George Thorogood, nascido em 31 de Dezembro de 1950, em um subúrbio de Wilmington, em Delaware, nos Estados Unidos, é líder da banda de blues rock George Thorogood And The Destroyers.Seu primeiro álbum - 'Better Than The Rest' - foi lançado em 1974, acompanhado por Ron Smith na guitarra, Hank Carter no saxofone, Jeff Simon na bateria e Bill Blough no baixo.
Mas o Melhor estava por vir... um sujeito em Boston, após o trabalho, procura por um boteco diferente para beber o seu merecido uísque. Está cansado dos mesmos barzinhos modernosos de Manhattan; ao invés disso, parte para a periferia. Dirigindo meio a esmo, se depara com uma casa de dois andares que oferece bebidas e música ao vivo. Mas o que detém este homem é o som que vem do segundo piso. Da rua, de dentro do carro, o que ele ouve de lá de cima é alguém possuído pelo demônio, detonando um blues simplesmente irresistível. Subindo as escadas, ele senta-se no bar, pede o uísque e olha para George Thorogood, que está num pequeno palco, em transe, tocando para - ninguém! Não havia outra pessoa naquele lugar além do barman! Este homem, que seria o primeiro produtor de Thorogood, tinha a certeza de que não seria possível dar em nada uma gravação daquele demente. E acertou; este álbum de estréia, com a guitarra venenosa de George, temperada pelo "slide", consagrou "Bad To The Bone" como uma das músicas mais populares da história do blues. (Wikipedia)
