Legacy of PSA and Classic Pedals In a new version
Few analog amplifier models have left behind the same lasting legacy as Tech 21's SansAmp series.
Created in the early 1990s, the original SansAmp Classic pedal revolutionized the field of direct recording and performance, providing guitarists and bassists with the warmth and dynamics of a tube amplifier without the need for one. Its unique switch configuration allowed users to accurately control the gain structure, equalizer nature, and cabinet emulation in a compact and flexible format.
It was this device that Kurt Cobain used while recording «In Utero», creating aggressive guitar tones right on the console. Around the same time, Chad Blake began using the Classic pedal as an integral part of his drum recording chain, running bass microphones through it to add punch, growl and harmonic rigidity. This tone became one of his signature.
As demand grew, Tech 21 released the SansAmp PSA-1 — rack version of the Classic with full preset memory and advanced control capabilities. With its all-analog sound and ability to save settings, it has become an indispensable studio instrument for synthesizers, vocals, drums and more.

Mr. Hector: The Legendary Powerhouse

The amp that built a legacy. Mr. Hector is an ultra-high-gain, 100W monster known for its incredibly tight low-end, aggressive midrange, and searing gain. With two channels, shared EQ, and dedicated Bright and Mid switches, you can effortlessly dial in everything from vintage-inspired crunch to the most punishing modern metal tones. Use the selectable tube rectifier for a classic, compressed “saggy” feel, or switch to the diode rectifier for an immediate, lightning-fast tight response.

The Beast: The Aggressive Sibling

Unleash Mr. Hector’s younger, more aggressive brother. The Beast is a 30W, three-channel amplifier powered by four EL84 tubes, delivering a sharper, edgier, and more modern high-gain flavor. The Clean and Crunch channels offer everything from sparkling cleans to vintage breakup, shaped by a unique “Character” knob. The Drive channel delivers pure modern high-gain saturation, with a Mid Switch that re-voices the EQ for classic warmth or a tighter, more focused attack.
